21yr old Californian (So-Cal) with what has been called a "unique perspective" on art. ~ I've always been a doodler, & in high school my doodling turned into inked line art (though you will not see much here on DA) & in addition to furthering my 'traditional' artistic abilities, I picked up digital art in high school. I've been developing my own style ever since. - Still have allot to learn though. And so I am here to share my work, appreciate others work, & enjoy the artistic community of DA.

I miss Halloween...

... you know how it used to be? ~ not just being a kid & the free candy, but the way people would actually come out with their families and enjoy the night. I can remember having to constantly dodge other groups of trick-or-treaters that literally filled the sidewalks; going from decorated house to decorated house, staying out till almost 10 as a kid with your parents collecting candy...

Any more... seems the holiday is demonized, far more than years past. When I was a kid, the supposed danger was poison and razor blades (an unrealistic fear of my parents that nationally almost never was an issue) leftover concepts from the 70's & 80's. Then as a teenager after 9/11 it was bio terrorism, anthrax & jihad. And for today it's H1N1, Bird flu, and gang-bangers. What does it say about our society when the trust is all but gone?

I miss my Halloween. ~
